Dominicana Posts on the Cooperator Brotherhood #OP800

April 29, 2016

In celebration of our 800 year jubilee celebration, our student friars’ popular blog, Dominicana, has published 5 posts on the cooperator brother vocation. Written by our cooperator brothers in formation, they each focus on a different Dominican saint: Blessed Brother Oderic (first cooperator brother of the Order) The Art of Obedience (Bl. Bro. James of Ulm) Which Swords? When Plowshares?  (Bl. Bro. Simon Ballachi) Carino Converted (Bl. Bro. Carino Balsamo) The Wood of Salvation (St. Martin de Porres) The Dominican vocation of a cooperator brother, through the vows of obedience, poverty and chastity, is centered in, and radically dependent, on a common life devoted to prayer and liturgy, study and scholarship, preaching and other ministries, and especially by caring for one another in community.  In recent years, there has been a marked interest in young men considering a vocation to be a cooperator brother.
